The term sport injuries, in the broadest sense, refer to the kinds of injuries that occur during sports or exercise. Sports injuries can occur from accidents, poor training, “over-training”, improper equipment and from insufficient “warm-ups” or stretching.

Although virtually any part of the body can be injured during sports or exercise, the term usually refers to injuries that involve the musculoskeletal system. The musculoskeletal system includes the muscles, bones, cartilage, ligaments and tendons.
